Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Review – A Premium Phone That Comes With A Price Tag

Samsung Note 5 is a big, powerful android device that made headlines for its 5.7” display, superfast processor, S Pen Stylus, and improved camera when it was first launched. Its solid build and unique glass-and-metal design were also among the standout features of the device. Even today, it is among the premium handsets that come with a price tag. Let’s have a detailed Samsung Galaxy Note 5 review to give you a feel of this premium device.

Design

The Galaxy Note 5 boasts pretty much the same shape as the older Note 4, but the two phones are built very different.

The old faux leather back is now replaced with a nice glass sheet infused seamlessly into a metal frame. The back also has an inward curve on the right and the left. The curved back combines with its smaller footprint to make handling easier, despite it being sized like a phablet.

Even with a 5.7” AMOLED display, Samsung has managed to make this phone feel slimmer and sleeker. There are a couple of soft keys right under its display as usual, and they sandwich the physical home button. The home button also serves as the fingerprint reader. The power/lock button is placed on the right while the volume rocker goes to the left. At the bottom, you can find headset jacks, S Pen Holster, and a micro-USB charger. The SIM card tray is located on the top.

Display

The Samsung Note 5 features a big 5.7” display with 2560x1440 quad HD resolution. While it spreads the same number of pixels on the big screen as the Galaxy S6, its Super AMOLED display differs in peak brightness, color accuracy, and contrast ratio. Besides, the viewing angles and the brightness levels are just immaculate.

The display offers great sunlight legibility too. It’s been tuned to increase brightness levels from what’s available to the users when in a brighter environment. With this feature, you can read emails even when you’re under direct sunlight.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 comes with a 16MP rear snapper with a wide f/1.9 aperture. It features the same Sony Exmor RS IMX 240 sensor that is featured in the Galaxy S6 devices. All these features allow the Galaxy Note 5 camera to produce brighter photos with good enough color accuracy.

The rear camera can also shoot 4K videos at 30 fps and 1080p videos at 60 fps. No matter what resolution you choose, the result you get is just perfect.

On the front, you get a 5MP shooter with an f/1.9 aperture. It does a great job and gives vibrant photos with great colors. However, it may not be as good in low-light settings.

Performance

At its core, the Galaxy Note 5 features an octa-core processer with the same Exynos 7 chipset that came in Galaxy S6 devices. Its 2.1 GHz and 1.5 GHz quad-core chips are accompanied by 4GB of RAM to keep your handset running smoothly.

Overall, it gives strong performance with detail-rich graphics and zippy navigation. You don’t experience any lags, and the device feels snappy. It launches in 25 seconds only when you turn it on. Pretty quick, indeed!

Battery Life

The Samsung Note 5 comes with a 3000mAh battery that is a touch under the 3200mAh battery that is featured in the older Note 4. Despite this little loss of capacity, the battery life will definitely surprise you. It lasts almost a day of average use.

So, there is a lot of good to talk about this big flagship from Samsung. If you want to pay a fraction less from its original price, it’s high time to grab a deal at Bulk Mobiles UK. You’ll be proud of your decision for sure.
