Samsung Galaxy A9 Review – A Powerful Yet Affordable Flagship That Goes Big On Specs

The Samsung Galaxy A9 came out as the first smartphone that featured four cameras on its rear. It also made headlines for being a good-looking and feature-packed device. The device was aimed at younger adults for whom social media and mobile photography make a daily ritual. With features like a big full HD+ display, 6GB of RAM, a quad camera, and a powerful battery, the handset makes a powerful yet affordable flagship that many would easily fall for. Let’s explore more details about this wonderful device in our Samsung Galaxy A9 review.

Design

The handset boasts a premium design that brags about glass front and back and a metal frame to give it a premium feel. It’s a sizable device that features a big 6.3” display with a very slim bezel around it. There’s no camera notch at the front. Flip it around, and you’ll find a fingerprint scanner and the quad-camera setup.

The right side of the phone is equipped with easily accessible volume and power/lock keys. On the left, you can find a dedicated Bixby button to quickly launch your personal assistant. The bottom edge of the device is home to a headphone jack, a USB-C port, and a solo speaker.

Display

The big 6.3” ‘Immersive’ screen on the Samsung Galaxy A9 is an AMOLED display with Full HD resolution and excellent contrast. It even lets you switch between various color profiles. The manufacturer names it an ‘Immersive Display’ instead of an ‘Infinity Display’ because it lacks curvature around the sides. It’s an Always-on display that may not be too flashy, but it does offer punchy colors and decent vibrancy.

Cameras

The quad-camera setup on the Galaxy A9 is probably the biggest draw of this device. The four cameras include a 24mp (f/1.7) primary shooter, an 8mp (f/2.4) ultrawide angle sensor, a 5mp (f/2.2) depth sensor, and a 10mp (f/2.4) telephoto lens that gives you 2x optical zoom capabilities. The front of the device is equipped with a 24mp (f/2.0) selfie camera.

Overall, the camera performance is very good. However, if you zoom into the pictures captured with your Samsung Galaxy A9, you’ll notice the details get muddy very easily.

Performance

At its core, the Galaxy A9 houses a Qualcomm Octa-core Snapdragon 660 chipset. It is a very capable chip and gets all the support from 6GB/8GB of RAM to give a seamless performance, even when playing high-end games. It is also accompanied by 128GB of storage.

Battery Life

The Galaxy A9 packs a big 3800mAh battery inside, and it gives you solid battery life. You can always count on it, even on those long, busy days.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 is a nice smartphone that you can prefer for quite a few reasons. You get an amazing display, a cool design, and a powerful chipset. However, the camera setup is still its biggest attraction. If all that sounds like this is the phone you’d want, start looking for the best deals at Bulk Mobiles now.
