When Motorola launched the KRZR K1, the manufacturer introduced it as an all-new, glossy, and luxurious substitute to the RAZR devices. However, this phone is not for a modern-day gadgeteer and rather gives you more basic functionality. Nevertheless, it’s a workhorse that offers long call time that many modern-day gadgets fail to bring to the table. So, if you are just interested in a handset that could be used for keeping in touch with your contacts through text and voice calls, read on and get to know more about the handset in our Motorola KRZR K1 review.
Design
Though it looks pretty similar to the older RAZR phone, the KRZR K1 boasts an extraordinary design with an excellent build and high-quality materials. Its slim design is accentuated by the all-metal build, making it a solid device for everyday use. The sizable mirrored crystal glass slab lends this phone a weighty feel along with beautiful, beveled edges.
The phone’s unique shape is all about its revolutionary clamshell design. Besides, it is surprisingly long and relatively thin, making it comfortable to hold. The top half of the phone has a mineral glass coating to help ensure it resists scratches longer than usual. The rear panel of the phone is made using a soft-touch material that feels more like a combo of rubber and velvet. The panel on top of the battery is made of aluminum and is extremely thin.
The handset features a voice control button on its right, and it launches a voice recorder when you long-press it. Just below it is a mini-USB connector that has a soft plastic cap attached to it. On the left, you have a dual volume-control button aka the “Smart Key”. You can assign any desired function to this key using the menu.
Display
The main display is a 30x38mm TFT screen with a 176x220 pixels resolution, and it supports 256K colors. With its superb legibility and contrast, you hardly notice the lower resolution.
On the outside, the phone has another 19x16mm display with support for 65K colors. It becomes completely illegible in direct sunlight but looks better in the dark. When the phone is closed, the external display shows the wallpaper you have on the main display on the inside. It also includes a digital clock and other details like the battery state and signal strength.
Camera
For a budget phone like the Motorola KRZR K1, it’s always a blessing to have a camera on it. Fortunately, the handset comes with a 2MP camera. However, it’s not a great one and can’t even compete with most competing 1.3MP cameras. Nevertheless, it’s a perfect addition for a casual night out with friends.
If the objects shot aren’t too far away, you can expect well-focused pictures. But the remote objects aren’t captured as you’d want to. You can also use the camera to shoot 352x288px videos in the 3GP format.
Performance
The Motorola KRZR K1 may not likely impress the gadget-lovers with its old-school menu system, the RAZR-generation display, and the lack of modern features. However, you can expect good call quality and long hours of voice calling. But if you want to browse modern websites, play the latest games, and watch movies, this phone is not for you.
Battery Life
The phone comes with a 700mAh Li-Ion battery that, according to the manufacturer’s claims, offers 360 minutes of voice calling or 300 hours of standby time.
The Motorola KRZR K1 is a perfect device for casual cell phone users looking for a stylish handset. If you don’t want those high-end features on the modern-day smartphones, settle for this budget phone, and you won’t regret it. Order now with Bulk Mobiles and secure yourself a perfect deal!
