Huawei P30 Lite Review – An Affordable Device With A Tempting Design And Excellent Cameras

Huawei introduced the P30 Lite as a low-cost version of their P30 smartphone. Though the price was cut to half, there were a few trade-offs. The Lite model lacks a 2x zoom camera and features a less powerful CPU and a less capable main lens. Nevertheless, it’s hard to tell that you’re using a Lite phone unless you start taking photos in low-light scenes. The phone boasts a striking design, features a reasonable display, and offers a versatile camera. Want to know more? Check out our complete Huawei P30 Lite review below.

Design

The Huawei P30 Lite is a slim and elegant phone that brings bold styling and accessible size together. The front of the phone boasts an all-glass build with minimal bezels. On the back, it has a nice, elegant curve. Despite its plastic frame, the phone is pretty solid and emulates the metal used in the other P30 models.

The rear of the phone also hosts a fingerprint scanner alongside a triple camera module. The bottom is equipped with a USB-C port, and the right side of the device is home to all the buttons. The phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and an easy-to-cover-up mono speaker.

Display

For the screen, we have a full HD+ display on Huawei P30 Lite. It’s a 6.15” LCD screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. You get 1080x2312p resolution and 415ppi pixel density with this display. Though it comes with a notch to house the selfie camera, the screen has minimal bezels and makes for a wonderful experience for video and gaming addicts.

Overall, it’s a good display with strong viewing angles and good brightness levels. It’s also quite sharp, but you may have to do some tweaking to get a perfect white balance and color accuracy.

Camera

The P30 Lite comes with a 3-camera setup on the rear. The main sensor is a 48MP snapper that captures 12-megapixel images when using the default setting. The other two cameras include a 13MP ultra-wide lens and a 2-MP depth sensor. The phone lacks a zoom lens. It’s still a good camera for the price, and you can capture vivid, sharp, and bold images with it. It can also capture 1080p videos at 60fps.

The front camera is a 24MP sensor that works great. It is capable of rendering a lot of fine facial detail even when used in dim indoor lighting.

Performance

The handset uses a Kirin 710 processor from HiSilicon – a Huawei subsidiary. It’s an octa-core processor chip with four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores. It’s a powerful chip that can slightly outperform competing Snapdragon 710. It is backed by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The overall performance is pretty satisfactory, and the phone seldom lags with split-screen multitasking. Still, it’s not a good pick for intensive gaming, though.

Battery Life

The Huawei P30 Lite packs a 3340mAh battery that may be slightly smaller for a big-screen phone like this. It doesn’t even get close to the high-end P30 Pro in terms of battery life. Nevertheless, it can last you through the day of regular use.

The P30 Lite may not come equipped with class-leading tech, but it is among the most premium picks for the price. If you’re looking to grab a good deal, Bulk Mobiles UK brings you enormous discounts. Check out now!
