With the release of BlackBerry Key2, we witnessed the trend tilting back towards the acceptance of handsets with physical keyboards. However, the price tag barred many from going for the Key2 despite all the great features on offer. Fortunately, Blackberry sorted that out with the release of BlackBerry Key2 LE. But is this business phone anywhere close to the Key2 flagship? Let’s find out in our BlackBerry Key2 LE Review!
Design
The BlackBerry Key2 LE is pretty much identical to its predecessor when it comes to design. It boasts the same 4.5” display along with the textured back to offer extra grip. And, due to the plastic frame, it’s a touch lighter than Key2.
Towards the top, it features a 3.5 mm headphone jack. You’ll find a volume rocker, a textured power button, and a convenience key that can be customized. The microSD and SIM tray go to the right. The dual speakers and the USB-C charging port are at the bottom.
There’s a black frame surrounding the display to efficiently hide the selfie camera, capacitive buttons, and earpiece. It gives a minimalist look to the phone as well.
Display
The BlackBerry Key2 LE features a 4.5” touch LCD that’s pretty good, in fact, for such a midrange business phone. It offers 1620x1080 resolution with a 434ppi pixel density. Overall, the display is color-accurate but may feel a little cool sometimes. The brightness is good enough for indoor and outdoor use.
Camera
While Key2 LE is, primarily, a business phone, nobody was expecting much from its cameras. Surprisingly, however, it comes equipped with a dual-camera setup at its rear with 13MP and 5MP cameras delivering the punch. You can even record 4k videos at 30fps using your Key2 LE. It also comes with an 8MP selfie shooter.
It uses the BlackBerry camera app instead of Android’s native and offers some cool filters. You also get to enjoy HDR, slow-mo, panorama, and portrait mode. The photo quality may vary considerably based on the light in the surroundings. So, you can expect them to be crisp and detailed or poor quality depending on how bright it is.
Performance
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor and featuring 4GB of RAM, the BlackBerry Key2 LE is still a midrange business phone. When it comes to storage, you get 64GB of space with the option to get an extra 256GB using the microSD slot.
Overall, the performance is reasonably good. However, expect slight lag while opening the apps, and it may also slow down a little when you have opened multiple apps simultaneously.
Battery Life
The BlackBerry Key2 LE comes equipped with a 3000mAh battery which is very much standard nowadays. However, you can expect it to perform a little better on Key2 LE as the handset features a relatively smaller display. With normal use, it's likely to last through the day.
So, if you’re looking for an affordable business phone to replace the flagship BlackBerry Key2, the midrange Key2 LE should be a great choice. Order now at Bulk Mobiles UK, and grab yourself the best deals on the market.
