Alcatel 1v is a budget phone exclusively designed by T-mobile for Metro. The phone was introduced to compete in the mid-market range and can be a good backup device. It is competitively priced and will surely make a few heads turn with its attractive price tag. Despite being a basic handset, it offers everything you need from your handset in everyday use. It may not have the modern bezel-free design, but it still doesn’t look too bad, especially for a phone with this price. If you want to learn more about this budget handset, here’s our detailed Alcatel 1v review.
Design
The Alcatel 1v is a compact phone with a sleek profile and metallic painting. Available in metallic rose, metallic gold, metallic blue, and anthracite black colors, this phone looks cool if not anything better.
All the keys are accessible on the right, including the lock/unlock button, the volume controls, and a dedicated Google Assistant button.
The phone features a fingerprint sensor at the back along with a camera and an LED flash in the top-left corner.
Display
It features a 5.5” IPS capacitive touch screen with 480x960 pixels resolution. The Full View Display is multitouch capable and offers an 18:9 aspect ratio. Its 79% screen-to-body ratio makes for an amazing viewing experience for such a compact device. The large display of the device is perfect for playing games and watching videos.
Camera
The Alcatel 1v is equipped with a 5mp rear camera with an f/2.4 aperture and autofocus. The camera also offers AI scene detection features and is capable of identifying 12 different scenarios, automatically optimizing the settings for a perfect shooting experience.
There’s a 5MP camera on the front as well for better and brighter selfies anywhere you like. It is accompanied by an LED flash on the front too.
While the camera produces good results in most cases, you might be a bit dissatisfied with the overall quality of the captured images.
Performance
The handset is powered by a 1.6GHz Spreadtrum SC9863A Octa-Core processor that features 4x1.6 GHz ARM Cortex-A55 cores and 4x1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A55 cores. Combine it with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and you can expect seamless performance from your mid-range phone. While the RAM can’t be extended further, you can increase the storage with a microSD card.
It performs really well, and there aren’t any performance issues with most of the apps. In fact, it performs reasonably well when playing relatively heavier 3D games.
Battery Life
The Alcatel 1v comes equipped with a 2460mAh non-removable Li-Polymer battery that offers 9.5 hours of talk time and 468 hours of standby time. That’s impressive, isn’t it?
If you are looking for a budget phone that can serve as your backup device, the Alcatel 1v can be a good choice. The handset offers almost everything you need, from a decent camera to a large display for gaming and watching videos. And, all that comes with an affordable price tag. Want to bag a sweet deal?
